The BodyWise Group
BodyWise is committed to healing trauma through the body,
utilizing trauma-informed yoga.
The BodyWise Group is headed by Eleanor Bramwell, and contains the BodyWise Foundation and the BodyWise Institute. The group will soon encompass the BodyWise Podcast and the BodyWise Center.
We recognize the body's unique role in healing trauma.
We offer evidence-based and experiential trainings to those on the front lines of trauma: yoga teachers, school teachers, fire fighters, social workers and more.
Our free 8-week trauma resolution program for survivors utilizes trauma-informed yoga to serve neglected children, sexual assault survivors, torture survivors, refugees, veterans, those in addiction recovery, etc.
We have created meaningful partnerships with agencies like the Harvard Program for Refugee Trauma, the Center for Victims of Torture, and the US Department of Health and Human Services: Office of Refugee Resettlement.
We are running a research study on trauma-informed yoga (the second study ever!):
- our pilot launched with the Veterans Administration
- our second panel will explore the efficacy for sexual assault survivors
Our first year we served Syrian Refugee Children, and Female Genital Mutilation Survivors in Africa.
